Meet Trecia Lyon, LCSW
Hi, beautiful soul. I’m Trecia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma-informed clinician. For nearly a decade in clinical practice—building on nearly twenty years of ministry and community support—I’ve had the privilege of sitting with people and learning to see beyond the surface of what they present.
What I’ve learned, time and again, is that people long to be truly seen—especially those who didn’t feel fully understood, heard, or valued earlier in life.
I work with individuals who may look like they have it all together on the outside while privately carrying anxiety, self-doubt, unresolved trauma, painful relationship patterns, grief, or a persistent feeling of not being enough.
My work is rooted in the belief that there is usually more beneath the surface. Rather than simply putting out fires, I seek to understand where the smoke is coming from.
I bring clinical training, trauma-informed care, cultural awareness, and a whole-person perspective into the therapeutic space. My background in ministry also gives me a unique understanding of the intersection between faith, identity, emotional well-being, and the weight of caring for others. I welcome pastors, clergy, ministry leaders, and people of faith who want their spiritual beliefs and values respected within therapy. When desired, faith can be thoughtfully integrated into our work without compromising the clinical depth therapy requires.
Originally from Clarendon, Jamaica, and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I have called the South home for over twenty years. I bring the rich, diverse cultural perspectives shaped by each of these places into my practice. I hold a BA in Ministerial Theology from Oakwood University and an MSW from Southern Adventist University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and a certified Chi for Two® Embodiment Coach.
